Can holders of any MM2H program engage in business activities in Malaysia?
Generally, MM2H holders are not allowed to work or be employed by a Malaysian employer, except for holders of the MM2H Platinum tier, Sarawak MM2H (for eligible applicants aged 50 and above), and Sabah MM2H (with specific approval).
However, MM2H holders can invest and become shareholders of a company or partners in a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP). They are permitted to participate in the company’s operations on a non-salaried basis, sharing in the post-tax profits as a shareholder or partner.
